Radiation Safety Officer or Health Physicist (Junior to Executive)

📍 Location: Florida, Texas, Idaho, Utah, or Remote

Salary Range: $70,000-$245,000, based on level of experience

The Role

We are seeking radiation protection professionals ranging from junior health physicists through senior RSOs to support radiological programs at nuclear facilities and related environments. This role focuses on compliant, practical radiation protection that enables operations while protecting people and maintaining strong safety culture.

What You’ll Do

Support or lead radiation protection programs (monitoring, ALARA, RWPs, postings) that you may be involved in setting up from scratch

Perform dose assessments, surveys, and contamination controls or make plans for how such activities will be completed for conceptual new reactor designs.

Support radioactive material handling, waste management interfaces, and reporting

Develop and maintain procedures, training, and program documentation

Support audits, inspections, and regulator interactions

Investigate events and implement corrective actions

Qualifications

BS in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (experience-based substitutions possible)

1+ years (junior) to 10+ years (senior) in radiation protection / health physics

Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred

Experience in nuclear power, fuel cycle facilities, isotope processing, or DOE environments.

Experience starting a Radiation Protection program from scratch or heavily upgrading such procedures/programs, preferably for new reactor of fuel related facilities.
