Salary Range: $75,000-$215,000, based on experience
The Role
We are seeking a Piping Designer to support layout, modeling, and drawing production for nuclear facilities. This role works closely with other disciplines to deliver constructible designs with strong configuration control that meet code requirements the first time.
What You’ll Do
Create and maintain 2D and 3D piping designs, layouts, and isometrics
Develop piping GA drawings, supports details, and interface drawings
Coordinate with other disciplines on specifications, line lists, and design changes
Support model reviews, clash detection, and constructability feedback loops
Maintain drawing/model revision control and documentation discipline
Qualifications
3+ years piping design experience in industrial facilities
Proficiency with common CAD/modeling tools (as applicable)
Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate across disciplines
Strong understanding of ASME B31.1 and/or ASME B31.3 and similar standards governing piping.
Preferred
Experience in nuclear. Prior nuclear experience preferred and decades of experience would tend to place higher onto listed pay range.
Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (as relevant to role interfaces or as bonus ability to help in vessel design work)
Ability to credibly and speedily take pre-conceptual design rough “have pipe carry hazardous fluid from point A to point B in the plant” concepts and make 3D CAD models and documentation more precisely describing the pipe in a way that meets relevant building & ASME codes and proceed to construct it. Ability to quickly & credibly point out errors in the attempted work of others along these lines.
