Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager

Salary Range: $130,000-$250,000

The Role

We are seeking a Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager to support the final design and construction of new nuclear power plants across multiple projects under NRC regulatory frameworks. Positions supporting a single company doing similar duties are also available.

What You’ll Do

Ensure the health of nuclear quality assurance (NQA-1 or ANS 15.8) programs. Resolve disputes and develop strategies related to quality and quality adjacent topics. Assist in the dispositioning of non-conformance reports. Other typical QA Manager scopes as requested. Support the creation of licensing documentation (e.g., QAPD and other things associated with standing up a nuclear quality assurance program from scratch) as necessary.

Qualifications

4 year degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Management, Construction, or related field is preferred. Decades of experience doing this task in nuclear industry may suffice in lieu of degree.

Five years of relevant Nuclear Quality Assurance experience in EPC design/construction related roles.

The ability to document and defend your work. The ability to mentor junior personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

History of resolving and preventing issues related to NQA-1 Requirement 3 “Design Control” is the biggest need for this role, particularly in the context of new reactor design and construction. History of QC program implementation associated with ASME N-Stamp. This role in particular is not as focused on supplier surveillance/audits, but some experience in that area is useful. ASNT NDE certification and AWS Certified welding inspector is desirable, but not necessary. ISO 9001 and ISO 19443 experience desirable, but not required.

15+ years of experience in billion dollar nuclear power plant new builds and willingness to relocate or travel frequently to support projects onsite may be required for higher end of the pay range.
