Nuclear Materials Control & Accountability (MC&A)

📍 Location: California or Remote

Salary Range: $65,000-$170,000, based on experience and equity desires

The Role

We are seeking an MC&A professional to support compliance and program execution for nuclear material control, accounting, inventory, and reporting obligations. This role supports facilities handling special nuclear material or other accountable materials and interfaces with operations, safeguards, security, quality, and regulatory stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Maintain and execute MC&A procedures for receipt, movement, measurement, and inventory of accountable material

Support periodic physical inventories, reconciliations, and investigation of inventory differences

Prepare required reports and documentation to meet regulatory and contractual requirements

Support measurement control, data quality, and traceability of records

Interface with operations and security on material access, transfers, and controls

Support audits, assessments, and regulatory interactions

Identify program gaps and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement

Qualifications

BS in Nuclear Engineering, Chemistry, Accounting, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)

2+ years of experience in nuclear operations, safeguards, or MC&A-related work (college work may be considered applicable upon review. Prior nuclear experience preferred and 10+ years of experience would tend to place higher onto listed pay range.)

Strong attention to detail and comfort working with controlled records and procedures

Preferred

Experience in DOE/NNSA environments or fuel cycle facilities

Familiarity with measurement systems, NDA/DA concepts, or safeguards requirements
