The Role
We are seeking a Nuclear Engineer (Radiological Analysis) to support the safety analysis, siting, and design of new reactor facilities across multiple projects and client environments. This role may combine radiation protection, offsite dose analysis, normal effluent release source terms, accident source terms, and regulatory support for both operating and next-generation nuclear technologies.
What You’ll Do
Perform radiological source term, core depletion, offsite dose estimate, component dose estimates, shielding design, and atmospheric dispersion estimates. Applicants capable of doing a larger percentage of these inter-related tasks to accomplish complicated analyses independently will be given priority.
- Design and optimize shielding using MCNP, OpenMC, SCALE, FLUKA, microShield, or RADTRAD.
- Estimate radionuclide migration in severe accidents with MELCOR, MAAP, MACCS, ARCON96, PAVAN, or similar software.
- Support radiation protection programs and ALARA compliance.
- Prepare safety analyses, calculations, and licensing documentation.
- Interface with regulatory authorities and support audits.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in nuclear radiological analysis
