Salary Range: $60,000-$300,000 based on experience
The Role
We are seeking a Criticality Safety Analyst to support criticality safety evaluations for fuel cycle facilities and other nuclear material handling environments. This role focuses on implementing defensible analyses, controls, and documentation that enable operations while meeting regulatory expectations.
What You’ll Do
Perform criticality safety evaluations (CSEs) for processes involving fissile material
Develop and maintain criticality safety limits, controls, and supporting basis documentation
Use validated analysis methods and tools to perform subcriticality calculations and sensitivity studies
Support criticality safety program elements (training, postings, procedure reviews, event investigations)
Interface with operations, engineering, and nuclear safety to implement controls in the field
Support audits and regulator interactions related to criticality safety
Qualifications
- BS in Nuclear Engineering or related field
- Background in neutronics analysis as hobby or at school, demonstrated diligence & drive, and a willingness to be trained for lower end of pay scale.
- 3+ years experience in criticality safety analysis or
- Certification under an ANSI/ANS 8 compliant program to be a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer with such qualifications and years of experience enabling higher bands of pay range.
- Familiarity with common criticality tools and methods (for example, MCNP, SCALE, 10CFR70, etc) and validation practices
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience in fuel fabrication, enrichment, reprocessing, or DOE nuclear facilities
