Salary Range: $145,000-$300,000 base salary. Incentives & equity factored separately
The Role
We are seeking a CFO to lead finance, fundraising support, and operational financial discipline for a high-growth nuclear technology company developing a new reactor design. This leader will partner closely with the CEO and technical leadership to build scalable financial systems, strengthen investor reporting, and support strategic decisions through the full lifecycle of product development, licensing, and commercialization.
What You’ll Do
Own financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
Build and lead core finance functions (accounting, FP&A, controls, reporting)
Support fundraising and investor relations (diligence, metrics, board reporting)
Establish financial controls and governance appropriate for regulated, high-capex programs
Model multi-year plans across R&D, licensing, test facilities, supply chain, and commercialization
Evaluate strategic partnerships, contracts, and government funding opportunities
Ensure compliance with relevant audit, tax, and reporting requirements
Qualifications
10+ years in finance leadership roles; startup and high-growth experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated strength in FP&A, capital planning, and board-level reporting
Ability to operate in technically complex, regulated environments
Strong communication skills and high ownership mindset
Preferred
- Experience in energy, nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other capital-intensive regulated industries. Nuclear experience particularly preferred.
- Experience supporting government contracting or grant-funded programs
