ASME Section III Procurement Quality Engineer

Location: Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, Kansas, or Remote (with travel to vendor sites as appropriate)

Salary Range: $115,000-$220,000, based on experience

The Role

We are seeking an ASME Section III Procurement Quality Engineer to support nuclear-grade procurement and supplier quality activities for safety-related components and services. You will serve as a key interface between engineering, procurement, suppliers, and quality to ensure items are purchased, qualified, and delivered in compliance with ASME Section III, NQA-1, and applicable regulatory expectations.

What You’ll Do

Support procurement quality planning for ASME Section III components (materials, fabrication, documentation packages)

Review and flow down technical and quality requirements to suppliers (drawings, specs, code requirements, quality clauses)

Evaluate supplier quality programs, including NQA-1 alignment and ASME Section III.

Perform supplier surveillance and audits (as required), including source inspections and hold point witnessing

Review vendor documentation packages (CMTRs, traceability, weld/NDE records, certifications)

Support commercial grade dedication (CGD) plans and execution when applicable

Manage and disposition supplier nonconformances (NCRs), deviations, and corrective actions

Coordinate with engineering on technical acceptability of supplier deviations and changes

Support quality record management and turnover packages for licensing and construction readiness

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Quality, Materials, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in procurement quality / supplier quality for highly regulated manufacturing (1 year nuclear experience specifically required)
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section III (components, materials, documentation expectations)
  • Familiarity with NQA-1, ISO 9001/19443, and nuclear supply chain traceability
  • Comfortable reading drawings, specs, and code-related documentation
  • Strong written communication and documentation discipline

Preferred

  • ASME Authorized Inspector exposure, NDE familiarity, or CWI exposure
  • Experience supporting new build or FOAK programs
