Salary Range: $80,000-$215,000, based on experience
The Role
We are seeking an Equipment Qualification (EQ) Engineer to support qualification of equipment for nuclear applications. This role ensures components meet environmental, seismic, and functional requirements and that qualification evidence is documented to withstand audits and licensing scrutiny.
What You’ll Do
Develop EQ plans and qualification strategies for electrical/mechanical/I&C equipment
Define qualification requirements and acceptance criteria (environmental, seismic, aging)
Review vendor qualification reports and test data; identify gaps and drive closure
Support qualification testing plans and oversight as needed
Stand up EQ Programs for reactor designers and component manufacturers
Maintain qualification files and traceability documentation
Interface with systems, I&C, mechanical, QA, and licensing teams
Qualifications
BS in Engineering or related field
3+ years in equipment qualification in nuclear industry or directly analogous high consequence industry (e.g., petrochemical or aerospace). Prior nuclear experience preferred and decades of experience would tend to place higher onto listed pay range.
Strong documentation discipline and ability to review technical evidence critically
Preferred
Experience with seismic qualification and environmental qualification methodologies
IEEE 344, IEEE 323, and related nuclear industry equipment qualification standards.
